First ever Windrush Anchor Festival at Edmonton Green Shopping Centre, Enfield on Saturday 20th August 2022 was a huge success. It met the objectives set by Enfield Synergy Forum Partners for private sector capacity-building leadership to inspire and renew the widely-acclaimed Synergy Model with a mission to inspire inclusive, peaceful, caring and enterprising neighbourhoods and local communities.

The Windrush Anchor Festival hosted by Edmonton Green Shopping Centre, was opened by the Mayor of Enfield, Cllr. Doris Jiagge, who congratulated the organisers, retailers and young people for staging such an exciting and entertaining event.

Destiny, the leader of Edmonton Young Creatives ( incl. Akasha, Raheem Cameron,Lydia,SP, Duaine and Squintz) , presented an inspiring showcase that demonstrated that local talent, given opportunity and access, is capable of leading communities and achieving cultural excellence. There was additional entertainment provided by 1000 Drums African Ancestral Salute and Steppaz.

Community vendors were present, including Enfield Caribbean Association, Enfield Climate Action Forum, Lynford Wisart, The Inspired Diabetic, accompanied by music and live broadcast from FRESHFM Radio London and live streaming from StreetMic.

The Windrush Anchor Festival also featured sessions on Healthy Living & Lifestyles to raise social prescribing awareness and health climate action for Community Pharmacy and Diabetes Dialogues.

A tribute was organised by 21K Digital Media Hub in honour of Enfield Windrush Community Champions of Enfield; The Late Mr Vince Campbell, MBE, members of his family attended as well as Brothers Fruit & Veg, local retailers, who helped people through the pandemic.
