Community Mental Health and Wellbeing
The Windrush Anchor Heritage Education programme is centered on the themes of Hope, Strength & Belonging. As part of this initiative, Community Mental Health and Wellbeing has been identified as a crucial milestone.
To achieve this, we propose the trusted messenger systems. This involves small groups with focus on the goal of fostering trust, confidence, and collective responsibility within a safe and familiar environment.
Our pilot project- both online and face-to-face- aims to compare the social and community systems between young people and adults, whose families originate from the Caribbean Commonwealth and currently reside in the UK, USA, and Canada. By adopting an action research approach, we aim to gain critical insights into this dynamic, devise effective solutions and share the learning.
